the earthquake was a lot scarier than the others.... i was actually under my desk with my students! it was a little weaker on the scale than the niigata earthquake, but the center was in tokyo so it felt stronger to us... i was wondering at what point do we start evacuating the building... then it stopped finally. it took a long time to get home tonight because the trains were messed up. everyone here talks about the 'big one' that's coming. they say the big earthquakes around tokyo run on a 60 year cycle and it's time for another one... but luckily that wasn't it. especially lucky because kita senju they say is the worst place to be in case of an earthquake! ( i know that makes you glad i'm leaving!) :)
